Astrological Readings
It can be valuable to have one's birth chart interpreted by every good astrologer you encounter. While there will be an underlying commonality in what all of them see and share with you, each astrologer will be able to discern and articulate specific dimensions of the chart in a way that reflects his or her particular expertise, sensibility, and life experience. Multiple interpretations of the astrological birth chart are like multiple translations of great works of art. The poems of Rilke or Rumi, for example, are of such multivalent depth and mystery that every gifted translator brings forth something new and essential from the original, revealing new insights and levels of meaning — different facets of the jewel, different windows into the mystery, further blossomings of the original. The birth chart possesses the same depth and complexity of archetypal meaning. So if possible, have your astrological chart interpreted by every gifted astrologer who crosses your path. In a participatory universe, every true translator or astrologer brings particular qualities of experience and knowledge that provide essential vessels for the mystery's self-unfolding.Because of his full-time teaching commitments, Professor Tarnas is no longer able to do personal consultations. For a reading that would be as close as possible to what he would give, he highly recommends Matthew Stelzner, Chad Harris and Jessica Garfield-Kabbara, and Keiron Le Grice. They have all fully assimilated the archetypal perspective of Cosmos and Psyche, and their work is informed by depth psychology (transpersonal, archetypal, and Jungian). Matthew, Chad, Jessica, and Keiron have each taught guest lectures in Richard's graduate seminars. All four of them are founding faculty members of the Institute of Archetypal Cosmology, and are brilliantly insightful astrological counselors.

Chad Harris and Jessica Garfield-Kabbara
Chad and Jessica love working with people seeking deeper psycho-spiritual insight and growth. If you live outside the Bay Area they also do readings through via Skype or by phone. The easiest way to contact them is through e-mail at astrology@archetypalview.com or by phone at 415-796-3552. Their website www.archetypalview.com is up and coming.
Keiron Le Grice
He has studied astrology for over twenty years, assimilating the ideas of Dane Rudhyar, Stephen Arroyo, Liz Greene, and especially Richard Tarnas. His approach is significantly influenced by depth psychology, especially the work of C.G. Jung, Edward Edinger, and Stanislav Grof. He also draws on existential philosophy (especially Friedrich Nietzsche), Joseph Campbell’s work in mythology, the insights of mystical literature, and, above all, on the experience of the archetypes in his own life. He uses archetypal astrology as a tool to help illuminate an individual’s spiritual life journey, focusing on the process of psychological transformation that Jung called individuation.
Calendar of Archetypal Influences
Using the approach to transit analysis that Richard Tarnas has used and taught for many years, Philip Levine, a gifted astrologer and software designer, worked with Professor Tarnas to create a superbly useful calendar that is personalized for the individual, based on one's time and place of birth. The Calendar of Archetypal Influences offers a beautifully designed presentation of the timing of the specific archetypal energies activated for the individual during a 12-month period. (If you request the student rate, you can get it for $50.) You can order it here.
